Public Speaking, Workshops, Etc.
Before going into any details, I want to say that I don't consider myself on the level of MLK. I simply couldn't find any good pictures of me speaking. Moving on. ¶ I remember I had to take this public speaking class when I was in college. Taught by the amazing Dr. Robert Ellis. The first thing he said was that more people in the world are afraid of public speaking than death. I’m not sure I’d go that far, but it is definitely in my top five. ¶ However, I only hate lectures specifically. I'm fine with doing panels and workshops, but lectures are a problem. I've done nearly 40 lectures between 2020 and 2023, and each time I have a panic attack. I've never had a panic attack in my entire life until I started public speaking. However, I've realized that no matter how much I hate it, people seem inspired by my story. I've learned that my story is a survival guide meant to be shared. So here we are. ¶
