Characters: Type In Action Exhibition
The Characters exhibition, presented by Vocal Type (my font foundry) and Civilization, explores the power of typography and design in shaping cultural narratives. Through a carefully curated selection of work, the exhibition delves into the intersection of design, identity, and history, with a particular focus on how underrepresented voices and movements are expressed through type. The programming surrounding the exhibition amplifies these themes, offering discussions and events that highlight the role of design in activism and social change. This exhibition is important because it not only showcases the visual language that reflects our shared histories but also invites conversation about the responsibility of designers to create work that challenges, represents, and empowers communities that have long been marginalized. ¶ We are currently hosting our second exhibition at the Museum of Design Atlanta and are always on the lookout for new venues. ¶
